RG Vetting Process

How Our Resource Guide works

This guide is Trans-Friendly resources- places/businesses that are inclusive of transgender & gender expansive individuals. Places can be 'gay-friendly' but transgender friendly can be a different expectation.

We built this resource to make sure that we have place that are truly inclusive of our transgender community which means that we only accept recommendations from Transgender & Gender expansive people & their allies. How do we go about this process? Good question let's get into it!

Step 1. Recommended by a TSAZ Member

We share our recommendations with our TSAZ community, meaning members and volunteers within TSAZ (Trans Spectrum of Arizona) are our main source. They have either had a good experience or regularly use the services that they recommend.

Step 2. Added to the Resource guide - Achieving Silver Star Status

When a service is listed it automatically becomes a silver star. We trust the word of our TSAZ members thus it is upgraded to a silver star status.  This does NOT mean that the service/resource has been fully vetted/interviewed by our Board & volunteers.

Step 3. TSAZ Approved - Achieving Gold Star Status

When a listing has obtained Gold Star Status, it means that the service/business was interviewed  and scored by our volunteers in a thorough phone call or meeting. We have a list of questions and criteria scoring that lets us know  how inclusive the business is. We don't share the  questions with anyone, nor the score.

If we feel that the business can improve its scoring, we will work with them to change policies, practices, or language to be more transgender - friendly, helping to keep or achieve gold star status!
